The historic Santa Fe Depot (now The Ashton Depot) was originally opened on March 1, 1899 in response to a growing demand for railroad service in Fort Worth. In 1938 the depot was renovated and modernized as part of an extensive program undertaken by the Fort Worth Union Passenger Station and the Santa Fe Railroad. The station served several lines until 1960. Amtrak operated passenger rail service out of the station between 1973 and 1995. Today, the Santa Fe Depot is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1970.

Today, the neoclassical Beaux Arts-Style terminal has been restored to its original beauty and distinctiveness. The original stained glass windows, barrel-vaulted ceilings, and marble floors are stunning, emanating an atmosphere of timeless style and grace.

Historic 1894 Chapel Located in Downtown Weatherford

This turn of the century landmark chapel is available for weddings, receptions, and other events. The chapel seats 150 guests and is fully handicapped-accessible. Featuring elegant bride and groom dressing rooms. A bridal staircase complete with customized theatrical lighting effects descends from the bride's room into the sanctuary. Elegant English Garden Estate

Chandor Gardens is the work of famous twentieth century portrait artist Douglas Chandor. Chandor moved to America in 1926 to marry and settle in Weatherford Texas. Over a period of 16 years Douglas Chandor converted a cactus covered hillside into a truly outstanding one-man garden that remains as a testament to his gardening and artistic skills. Today, the 3.5 acre Chandor Estate and formal gardens are operated by the City of Weatherford.

A Special Place for Special Events

Chandor Gardens is the perfect setting for weddings, retreats, and private parties for up to 200 people. Rentals can include the garden, the elegant 5600 square foot mansion, or both. The historic mansion is available for rehearsal dinners and indoor weddings for groups of 10 to 125.
