One of the great things about running a great wedding carriage company is that you get to go to weddings and events at some wonderful places. People ask me all the time about the best places for weddings and proposals in Sundance Square in Fort Worth. I want to share some of my favorite places for weddings along with ideas for proposals, anniversaries and having fun in Sundance Square and the surrounding Dallas Fort Worth area.

Ashton Depot Catering & Events in Fort Worth
History - The historic Santa Fe Depot (now The Ashton Depot) was originally opened on March 1, 1899 in response to a growing demand for railroad service in Fort Worth. In 1938 the depot was renovated and modernized as part of an extensive program undertaken by the Fort Worth Union Passenger Station and the Santa Fe Railroad. The station served several lines until 1960. Amtrak operated passenger rail service out of the station between 1973 and 1995. Today, the Santa Fe Depot is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1970.
Today, the neoclassical Beaux Arts-Style terminal has been restored to its original beauty and distinctiveness. The original stained glass windows, barrel-vaulted ceilings, and marble floors are stunning, emanating an atmosphere of timeless style and grace.

Brownstone Wedding Chapel
A historic 1894 Chapel Located in Downtown Weatherford. This turn of the century landmark chapel is available for weddings, receptions, and other events. The chapel seats 150 guests and is fully handicapped-accessible. Featuring elegant bride and groom dressing rooms. A bridal staircase complete with customized theatrical lighting effects descends from the bride's room into the sanctuary. The chapel's stained glass windows overlook an ample center aisle and oak pews. The reception hall includes tables, chairs, and linens; centerpieces, and a convenient kitchen with all set-up and clean-up. You may use your own caterer.

Chandor Gardens - An Elegant English Garden Estate
Chandor Gardens is the work of famous twentieth century portrait artist Douglas Chandor. Chandor moved to America in 1926 to marry and settle in Weatherford Texas. Over a period of 16 years Douglas Chandor converted a cactus covered hillside into a truly outstanding one-man garden that remains as a testament to his gardening and artistic skills. Today, the 3.5 acre Chandor Estate and formal gardens are operated by the City of Weatherford.
A Special Place for Special Events. Chandor Gardens is the perfect setting for weddings, retreats, and private parties for up to 200 people. Rentals can include the garden, the elegant 5600 square foot mansion, or both. The historic mansion is available for rehearsal dinners and indoor weddings for groups of 10 to 125.

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth
The Modern Art Museum was designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando to embody the pure, unadorned elements of modern art. The museum is located in Fort Worth's celebrated Cultural District, directly opposite the Kimbell Art Museum. The five pavilions that comprise the museum are surrounded by a large reflective pond, a sculpture garden, and terrace. The museum cafe, Cafe Modern was named one of America's Best Restaurants by Gourmet Magazine.

Reception options include the Cafe Modern, or the Cafe and Grand Lobby, or the Sculpture Garden. Combine any of these options with gallery access. Cafe Modern is the exclusive caterer for the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The menu options seem endless — and delicious.

Historic 512 / YWCA - in Downtown Fort Worth
The historic YWCA building at 4th and Burnett offers the ideal location to treat your guests to the charm and elegance of an earlier time. This historic landmark building reflects both the architectural and social character of Fort Worth in the 1920's. Designed by noted Fort Worth architect Wyatt C. Hedrick as an Elks Lodge Hotel, this building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
The Spanish Renaissance styled Great Room provides a romantic setting for an intimate wedding ceremony.
